Johnny Howell, a long time Vail local, has successfully helped athletes from the weekend warrior to the professional.
Johnny is an avid athlete who enjoys all kinds of mountain sports including mountain climbing, biking, snow boarding, and kayaking.
Johnny received his Masters of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MTOM) Degree from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego and obtained his Bachelor's of Science in Biology at Virginia Tech.
In addition to his clinical experience, Johnny has worked as an acupuncturist for the sports medicine department for the University of California San Diego.
He has helped UCSD college athletes, as well as professional athletes from the UFC, NFL, and the MLB for sport’s injuries and those recovering from orthopedic surgery. Johnny has also volunteered acupuncture services for senior’s clinics and homeless shelters.
Johnny’s clinical experience, education, and enthusiasm for activities in the mountains makes him uniquely capable of bridging Eastern medicine and standard biomedical care.
A new patient appointment is 90 minutes and will be an overall assessment & treatment session. After the new patient appointment, Johnny will advise you how to proceed with your treatments. As a preventative protocol, we do recommend making an acupuncture appointment often to help balance the body and mind.
